Common Scams to Avoid
Taxi drivers at Zaragoza Airport sometimes insist on a fixed 'airport supplement' that is not part of the official metered fare. Ask the driver to use the taxímetro and request a receipt (recibo) if they refuse, legitimate supplements are printed on the official fare sheet displayed in the vehicle.
Unlicensed drivers inside the terminal may pose as official taxi or rideshare operators and quote inflated flat rates to the city center. Only use the official taxi rank outside Arrivals or pre-book through the airport's partner apps displayed on signage to avoid this common tourist-area issue.
Car-rental desks occasionally upsell unnecessary insurance by claiming the basic rate does not meet Spanish legal requirements. Check the terms on your voucher before travel and decline extras unless you need them. Coverage details are regulated and must be provided in writing.
